Congratulations to the whole EIVE satellite team!
After 4 years of development, the Institute of Space Systems at the University of Stuttgart was able to launch their first CubeSat EIVE (Exploratory In-Orbit Verification of an E/W-Band Satellite Communication Link) on Monday, June 12, 2023. After a successful launch on a SpaceX Transporter-8 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California and the first promising flyover last night, the satellite will now gradually begin its work.
Goal of the EIVE mission
The goal of the EIVE mission is to open up new frequency ranges for broadband satellite communications and to meet the ever-growing demand for data rates. The EIVE project presents the world's first in-orbit verification of a communications link in the E-band.
