More space

10 years after the foundation, in 2014, the company arrived at important milestones.
Firstly, a further company building was ready for moving in – providing a lot of extra office and cleanroom space.
Secondly, there was the change in company management – Jost Munder left the company and was replaced by Frank Gilles.

At that time, the company had already grown nicely  - 65 Employees - and had developed an impressive portfolio: Small Satellites and Systems – with the Taiwan contract, the DLR Study DEOS, an in-orbit service mission which was later stopped due to budget reasons, and ICARUS – a mission to study animal behaviour. Satellite Equipment – already dominated by Solar Arrays for Kompsat-3, Göktürk and Sentinel 5 Precurser. S5P was STI’s first ESA Solar Array and was delivered in 2014. This is thanks to Airbus UK who gave STI their trust.

And finally the third pillar: Instruments with the GRACE FO Laser Ranging Interferometer with GFZ as our Customer and JPL and Airbus as Partners.

2014 CarboSpaceTech was founded. At first with 3 shareholders which was later reduced to two with the majority of STI.
