New Leadership at SpaceTech

We are pleased to announce a new chapter in the leadership of SpaceTech: Benoit Mathieu has taken on the role of Chief Executive Officer with effect on the 1^st of October.

At SpaceTech, this transition builds on a strong foundation. Under the leadership of company co-founder Bernhard Doll and, subsequently, Wolfgang Pitz - both working alongside CFO Frank Gilles - SpaceTech doubled its workforce and quadrupled its revenue over the past five years. We have evolved into a leading supplier of space solar arrays for important ESA missions as well as New Space constellations. SpaceTech has developed unique capabilities in the photonic instruments area and evolved into an instrument prime role: Most recent constitutional missions are LISA, CRACE-C, NGGM and optical clocks, e.g. COMPASSO.

Even after stepping away from an executive role, Bernhard has remained closely connected to the company throughout the years and continues to support SpaceTech as a trusted advisor and source of inspiration.

Wolfgang Pitz will continue to shape SpaceTech’s future as Chief Technology Officer, driving technological development and innovation. We thank him for his leadership as CEO and look forward to the expertise and momentum he will bring to this key role. Frank Gilles, CFO, remains alongside Wolfgang and Benoit to support the expansion of SpaceTech. He is the member of the leadership team with the longest experience at SpaceTech and can bring his expertise in the completion of the new site.

With extensive experience in the European space industry, Benoit brings a proven track record of sustainable growth. As CEO of OHB Sweden, he led the company through a similar transformation.
