SCA combines the Onboard Computer (OBC) and Power Control/Distribution Unit (PCDU) functions and modules in one box resp. unit.

SCA can be used for:

  • Communication and data handling (LEON3FT) in SCOC3
  • Attitude & orbit control
  • Thermal control
  • HK/Status acquisition, monitoring, storage
  • Power generation, storage and distribution
  • FDIR handling (partially autonomous)

Further features are:

  • CAN bus as internal/external communication bus
  • Central DC/CD for SCA internal supply; distributed POL
  • PCDE functions split in SAR and PDU Modules; one redundant controller handles the PCDE functions
  • OBC functions split in SPC and IO modules
  • SPC Modules are redundant with cross-coupling
  • IO Modules are independent and contain its independent controller and POL supplies
